We officialy launched our Algyy startup at Collision, the biggest tech conference in North America, as a part of the ALPHA and IMPACT programs in June 2024.

Vladimir Kanic, MFA
CEO/Founder, TEDx Speaker
Award-winning interdisciplinary artist and researcher with five years of experience working at the intersection of bioart and biotech, focusing on carbon-capture, utilization and removal through public installations. Inventor and patentee of Solid-State Carbon that can rapidly solidify atmospheric carbon into any shape.
Vladimir graduated as valedictorian from OCAD University, where he also received the Governor General’s Award, and is currently preparing for his interdisciplinary PhD in Biotech and Bioart at York University. He also studied computer science at the Goldsmiths University of London, and holds a diploma in software engineering. His globally exhibited work integrates art, science, and technology to promote sustainability and healthier communities.

Quincy Shaw, BA
Chief of Art Operations (CAO)
Quincy has an extensive background in curatorial studies and exhibition management, with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto and extensive work experience at the Art Gallery of Ontario and Abbozzo Gallery.
Her role at Algyy leverages her curatorial skills and network to strategically place algae-based artworks in urban environments, promoting sustainability and public engagement. She is currently completing her master’s degree in Curation at York University.
